INESC TEC creates a Network of Intercultural Ambassadors

INESC TEC welcomes people from several regions, currently bringing together more than 190 foreign members - a total of 40 nationalities*. In this sense, and to ensure that those arriving have all the necessary conditions for a proper integration into a new country, the International Relations Service (SRI) decided to create a network of Intercultural Ambassadors.

The goal of the Network is twofold: reinforce the support given to foreign colleagues in their adaptation to a new country and promote intercultural literacy across the organisation.

“We live in a multicultural world, where we must interact with people from different countries and cultures every day. Hence, it is crucial to learn how to acknowledge, understand and appreciate our  differences, taking advantage of this diversity  to evolve into a more inclusive organisational culture, open to the world", said Andreia Passos, Manager of the International Relations Service at INESC TEC.

Therefore, the SRI is inviting five more people to join this network. The network will welcome members of our community (foreign or national) with a close relationship with a given culture, or a particular taste for sharing experiences. Those interested in being part of INESC TEC's Network of Intercultural Ambassadors must fill out the form available here and wait for the SRI's contact.

Bianca Banica is one of the members of the Network. In her opinion “Arriving and adapting to a new country can be very confusing, demanding and sometimes stressful. Having a friendly face to ask for information or support can really make the difference. The Intercultural Ambassadors Network aims to offer that support and I am glad to be a part of it.”
